The lpOD project is a member of the competitivity cluster Cap Digital and is thus based at the heart of the Region Île de France, the French capital region. The companies and research labs that have created the lpOD project are for the most part located in this region.

The project shall interact and work together with organisations developing the existing major implementations of ODF on the market, such as the engineering team behind OpenOffice.org and ODF. based in Hamburg, Germany.

Strongly rooted in the Paris Capital Region, the lpOD project will work on a more global level with companies, research laboraties and bodies such as the OASIS consortium in Massachusetts, U.S.A.

The project also surveys other initiatives developing tools able to generate and manipulate ODF documents.
